Tony and I headed up to Mt Rainier Friday morning with the first stop being my sister-in-law's cabin a bit east of the mountain. We unpacked then set off on a hike up the American Ridge Trail. We were hoping for good 360° views, but could only see the nearby hills and mountains (no view of Mt Rainier). Jacci and Mark showed up late that night. Saturday morning we all went to the Sunrise area of Mt Rainier. We hiked up to Frozen Lake (it's really a reservoir) then continued on up to Mt Fremont lookout. Jacci and Mark left early Sunday, so it was just me and Tony when we drove to Paradise. We did a short hike up to Myrtle Falls and a bit higher for some views. We stopped at a couple waterfalls in the park on our way back to Portland.
